Prayer consists simply in giving to God all the careful attention of which the soul is capable.

Force is as pitiless to the man who possesses it, or thinks he does, as it is to its victims; the second it crushes, the first it intoxicates. The truth is, nobody really possesses it.

Nothing can have as its destination anything other than its origin. The contrary idea, the idea of progress, is poison.
