Moving from chair to chair, from coffee machine to coffee machine is the limit of my action in most films. But I enjoy being cast in them because I love watching them.
Stephen FrySelf-consciousness, that's what it is. Always my abiding vice. I keep seeing myself. Me watching myself watching others watch me. How do you lose that? What's the trick?
Stephen FryI used many times to touch my own chest and feel, under its asthmatic quiver, the engine of the heart and lungs and blood and feel amazed at what I sensed was the enormity of the power I possessed. Not magical power, but real power. The power simply to go on, the power to endure, that is power enough, but I felt I had also the power to create, to add, to delight, to amaze and to transform.
Stephen FryI do like being surprised by directors and producers and being offered parts I would never have considered, including parts that aren't necessarily obvious but which would test me.
Stephen FryWeather is real. It is absolutely real: when it rains, it rains โ you get wet, there is no question about it. It is also true about weather that you canโt control it; you canโt say if I wish hard enough it wonโt rain. It is equally true that if the weather is bad one day it will get better and what I had to learn was to treat my moods like the weather.
