I dont work weekends. Weekends are for my kids. And I have dinner at home every night when Im not physically directing a movie - I get home by six. I put the kids to bed and tell them stories and take them to school the next morning. I work basically from 9.30 to 5.30 and Im strict about that.
Steven SpielbergMovies are always in a state of locomotion. You start with a general idea of how it should feel and then you find you've got a runaway train. You have to race to catch up: the movie is telling you what it wants to become, and when that happens there's no greater feeling.
Steven SpielbergI just had a crazy, wild imagination all my life, and science fiction is the greatest outlet for me.
Steven SpielbergWhatever affect any of my films have on audiences, I just kind of stop at the door. I make them and I just don't go outside after they're over.
Steven SpielbergI had no choice. It was just something that happened. I was always looking for ways to act out, and I got a camera and it acted out for me.
Steven SpielbergI didn't read reviews earlier in my career, but I read them now as I'm older. I read them all.
Steven SpielbergThe most amazing thing for me is that every single person who sees a movie, not necessarily one of my movies, brings a whole set of unique experiences. Now, through careful manipulation and good storytelling, you can get everybody to clap at the same time, to hopefully laugh at the same time, and to be afraid at the same time.
