The day before my 16th birthday I got my guitar.

And I knew then, as I know now, that I still have so much to do.

Lindsey [Buckingham] and I went up to Aspen and we went to somebody's incredible house and they had a piano and I had my guitar with me and I went in their living room, looking out over the incredible Aspen sky and I wrote 'Landslide.'

When you're hurt or angry, let go by tapping into your humbleness. You want people to remember you for your grace.

I remember once Prince dropped by to see me when I was in Minneapolis and I was sick, with a bag of cough drops and a spoon of cough medicine. I said to him, "Hey, can I have another spoon of that? It's just over the counter," and he'd go, "No, I didn't come here to start up new drug addictions for you." And I was like, "C'mon, give me that bottle!" He was very watchful over me.

When we started becoming friends [with Prince], I was really doing a lot of cocaine, and he hated that. Prince was so against drugs.

We don't need to have somebody that's gonna make sure they pay for our market bills. It's like we have only one reason to love and that is for the real idea of love.
