The root of evil is in the illusion that we are bodies. This, if any, is the original sin.

There is no salvation for man until he sees God, realises his own soul.

Shri Ramakrishna use to say, "As Long as I Live, so long do I learn". That man or that society which has nothing to learn is already in the jaws of death.

The forms have value only so far as they are expressions of the life within. If they have ceased to express life, crush them out without mercy.

Here in India, it is religion that forms the very core of the national heart. It is the backbone, the bed-rock, the foundation upon which the national edifice has been built. Politics, power, and even intellect form a secondary consideration here. Religion, therefore, is the one consideration in India.

I could not for my soul distinguish ever the distinction between "religious anger" and "commonplace anger", "religious killing" and "commonplace killing", "religious slandering and irreligious", and so forth.

I am neither the mind, nor the intellect, nor the ego, nor the mind-stuff
