Ours is the only religion that does not depend on a person or persons; it is based upon principles. At the same time there is room for millions of persons. There is ample ground for introducing persons, but each one of them must be an illustration of the principles. We must not forget that. These principles of our religion are all safe, and it should be the life-work of everyone of us to keep then safe, and to keep them free from the accumulating dirt and dust of ages.

We must travel; we must go to foreign parts. We must see how the engine of society works in other countries, and keep free and open communication with what is going on in the minds of other nations, if we really want to be a nation again.

We have seen that our vigour, our strength, nay, our national life is in our religion.

Be strong! Don't talk of ghosts and devils.

In Shankaracharya we saw tremendous intellectual power, throwing the scorching light of reason upon everything.

I direct my attention to the individual, to make him strong, to teach him that he himself is divine, and I call upon men to make themselves conscious of this divinity within. That is really the ideal --conscious or unconscious --of every religion.

A brave, frank, clean-hearted, courageous and aspiring youth is the only foundation on which the future nation can be built.
