The Vedas teach that the soul is divine, only held in the bondage of matter; perfection will be reached when this bond will burst, and the word they use for it is, therefore, Mukti - freedom, freedom from the bonds of imperfection, freedom from death and misery.

The animal man lives in the senses. If he does not get enough to eat, he is miserable; or if something happens to his body, he is miserable. In the senses both his misery and his happiness begin and end.

We have wept enough. No more weeping, but stand on feet and be men.

This ego - the less there is of it, the nearer I am to that which I really am: the universal body.

One ounce of practice is worth a thousand pounds of theory.

If the Lord wills, we shall make this Math a great centre of harmony. Our Lord is the visible embodiment of the harmony of all ideals. He will be established on earth if we keep alive that spirit of harmony here. We must see to it that people of all creeds and sects, from the Brahmana down to the Chandala, may come here and find their respective ideals manifested.

The forms have value only so far as they are expressions of the life within. If they have ceased to express life, crush them out without mercy.
