It was my last act of love (first words to her mother in the hospital after her first major suicide attempt)
Sylvia PlathSunday-the doctor's paradise! Doctors at country clubs, doctors at the seaside, doctors with mistresses, doctors with wives, doctors in church, doctors in yachts, doctors everywhere resolutely being people, not doctors.
Sylvia PlathI am still so naรฏve; I know pretty much what I like and dislike; but please, donโt ask me who I am. A passionate, fragmentary girl, maybe?
Sylvia PlathI always was interested in prose. As a teenager, I published short stories. And I always wanted to write the long short story, I wanted to write a novel. Now that I have attained, shall I say, a respectable age, and have had experiences, I feel much more interested in prose, in the novel. I feel that in a novel, for example, you can get in toothbrushes and all the paraphernalia that one finds in dally life, and I find this more difficult in poetry.
