My favorite thing in the world is telling stories, and most of what I do is telling stories through music.

My fans don't feel like I hold anything back from them. They know whatever I'm going through now, they'll hear about it on a record someday. They'll hear the real story. There's a little bit of lag time. It's not as instant as going on a gossip blog. But it's much more accurate.

I've been a huge fan of Chris Martin forever; it'd be awesome to work with him. He's really kind, and he's been really encouraging when we've met.

I've apparently been the victim of growing up, which apparently happens to all of us at one point or another. It's been going on for quite some time now, without me knowing it. I've found that growing up can mean a lot of things. For me, it doesn't mean I should become somebody completely new and stop loving the things I used to love. It means I've just added more things to my list.

At some point you have to forget about grudges because they only hurt.

the battle's in your hands now, but I would lay my armor down, if you said you'd rather love than fight.

When you hear people making hateful comments, stand up to them. Point out what a waste it is to hate, and you could open their eyes.
