I don't talk about my personal life in great detail. I write about it in my songs, and I feel like you can share enough about your life in your music to let people know what you're going through.

I always aspire to just be really nice to people. To be kind.

My parents have always been very respectful of me so I’ve always been really respectful of them. My worst fear is to let them down so that’s why I don’t misbehave.

I'm intrigued and drawn to people who know exactly who they are, who know what they want, who live life on their own terms.

I've never gotten thick skin. If you close yourself off and you get this protective armor, there is a price you pay with that - of not feeling. And feeling is important when you are a songwriter.

Part of me feels you can't say you were truly in love if it didn't last. If I end up getting married and having kids, that's when I'll know it's real - because it lasted.

Everybody has a list of 100 things they would like to change about themselves. But it's all about focusing on the good things.
