The glow of one warm thought is to me worth more than money.

We do not mean to count or weigh our contributions by any standard other than that of our abilities.

The only foundation for useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion.

Give up money, give up fame, give up science, give the earth itself and all it contains rather than do an immoral act. And never suppose that in any possible situation, or under any circumstances, it is best for you to do a dishonorable thing, however slightly so it may appear to you.

We exist, and are quoted, as standing proofs that a government, so modeled as to rest continually on the will of the whole society, is a practicable government.

It is unfortunate that the efforts of mankind to recover the freedom of which they have been so long deprived, will be accompanied with violence, with errors, and even with crimes. But while we weep over the means, we must pray for the end.

Above all I hope that the education of the common people will be attended to so they won't forget the basic principles of freedom.
