A government held together by the bands of reason only, requires much compromise of opinion.

Had not the Roman government permitted free inquiry, Christianity could never have been introduced. Had not free inquiry been indulged at the era of the Reformation, the corruption of Christianity could not have been purged away.

Bank-paper must be suppressed, and the circulating medium must be restored to the nation to whom it belongs.
