Hillary and I will do immigration enforcement and we'll vet refugees based on whether they're dangerous or not. We won't do it based on discriminating against you from the country you come from or the religion that you practice.

Maybe some things that weren't so great were said about the Irish when they came. But Americans've done well by absorbing immigrants and it's made our nation stronger.

Donald Trump's living in a different time, a time that is not a match for what Americans now believe about who our leaders should be.

When you ban people from predominantly Muslim countries from coming into the U.S., even people who accompanied our soldiers and helped them on the battlefield, but you say, "But, of course, there's gonna be an exception if you're a religious minority," - OK, so that means Christians, there will be a different rule applied to Christians from these countries than others - that's a religious test. And that is completely contrary to our national traditions.
