Jesus is the author of faith, the provider of faith, and the object of faith.

Prayer is our way of entering into the happiness of God himself

Our moral efforts are too feeble and falsely motivated to ever merit salvation.

Doing justice includes not only the righting of wrongs but generosity and social concern, especially toward the poor and vulnerable.

We think that idols are bad things, but that is almost never the case. The greater the good, the more likely we are to expect that it can satisfy our deepest needs and hopes. Anything can serve as a counterfeit god, especially the very best things in life.

It is inaccurate to think the gospel is what saves non-Christians, and then Christians mature by trying hard to live according to biblical principles. It is more accurate to say that we are saved by believing the gospel, and then we are transformed in every part of our minds, hearts, and lives by believing the gospel more and more deeply as life goes on.

We deserve to be forgotten because we forget Him. But because Jesus died on the cross, we will never, ever be forgotten by God.
