What greater value could you possibly have than to be delighted in and sacrificed for by the Maker of the universe.

God sees us as we are, loves us as we are, and accepts us as we are. But by His grace, He does not leave us as we are.

Because we put ourselves in God’s place, He put Himself in our place.

God so loved us and hates suffering that he was willing to come down and get involved in it.

When you say, "Come in Jesus as my caregiver, stay out as my Lord," he can't. He's both.

You can only afford to be generous if you actually have some money in the bank to give. In the same way, if your only source of love and meaning is your spouse, then anytime he or she fails you, it will not just cause grief but a psychological cataclysm. If, however, you know something of the work of the Spirit in your life, you have enough love "in the bank" to be generous to your spouse even when you are not getting much affection or kindness at the moment.

The key question in order to change you is not 'What would Jesus do?' but "What has Jesus done for you?"
