The life of faith is not the perfect life; it is the life which clings on to what God has said he will do.

Every other religion points to answers. Jesus, though, says 'I am the answer'.

Because of the Cross, God can be both just towards sin and yet mercifully justifying to sinners.

The resurrection of the body means that we do not merely receive a consolation for the life we have lost but a restoration of it. We not only get the bodies and lives we had but the bodies and lives we wished for but had never before received.

God's grace and forgiveness, while free to the recipient, are always costly for the giver. From the earliest parts of the Bible, it was understood that God could not forgive without sacrifice. No one who is seriously wronged can “just forgive” the perpetrator.

It takes pride to be anxious – I am not wise enough to know how my life should go.

We are so evil and sinful and flawed that Jesus had to die for us... But we are so lobed and valued that he was willing to due for us.
