I wanted to do a set of love songs for Valentine's Day so I went through my old material. I found myself scraping around the edges of good taste.

I worked hard at that through most of the '80s, and in 1990 my house burned in New Hampshire, and my studios and my offices. I had to decide at what level to rebuild, and I decided that I was going to stop trying to be all things to all people, and just go back to playing the guitar.

I tried playing electric for awhile and it just didn't work out. My reflexes are centered on the six string acoustic. I just played the electric too hard and it sounded awful, so I gave it up.

I saw a sign in Boulder. It said, 'Live Music and Darts.' Chicken wire isn't going to help at all.

I like mixing things up, doing some silly stuff, along with serious stuff, up tempo, and some quiet things ... it keeps me interested.
