See it as it is, not worse than it is just so you have a reason not to try.

People who focus on what they can't control are usually depressed, frustrated, angry, overwhelmed and lost. Sure, there's no way to look at the world and say it's fair, even or just.
Whatever you focus on you're going to feel.
The truth is that nothing has to happen in order for you to feel good.
Remember: we all get what we tolerate. So stop tolerating excuses within yourself, limiting beliefs of the past, or half-assed or fearful states.
