From the time God saved me at 21 years old, I've always been fascinated by the parables of Jesus.

My lifestyle got so disruptive to my family that my parents had no choice but to say, "You can't live here any longer if you're going to live this way." So, I was thrilled about it - thrilled!

If we're not reaching the same people Jesus reached, then we're not preaching the same message Jesus preached.

If you uproot the idol and fail to plant the love of Christ in its place, the idol will grow back.

We must reacquaint ourselves with the biblical weight of the problem that we less-than-perfect human beings contend with in the face of a holy and righteous God.

I've got three kids. I worry about them but the gospel freed me and freed my wife. We are not trying to make our kids think that we're super spiritual or we've got it all together. They see mom and dad being real people. What they hear dad talking about at home is not different from what they see from dad [at church]. That won't guarantee that they'll avoid the whole PK, MK thing. But we are hopefully not contributing to what normally produces that crisis, which is pretending.

Remember on your best day that Jesus had to die for you. Remember on your worst day that he did.
