Everything that I talk about, pretty much, are things that I learned or understood over the years.

My friend Madea has "attitude" that comes with wisdom. Back in our teens and twenties, we thought we knew everything and made all those foolish mistakes. Then, when we got a little older, at thirty, we started getting these flashes of light, revelations of what a great and lucky thing it is that we didn't get caught doing those stupid things back then. Around forty, if we are lucky, we stop lying to ourselves. Fifty and above, we've run out of patience for foolishness. Take me to the bottom line.

God has put me in a really good position where I can make the choices to walk away if something is not right, so that way I can keep my integrity.

I feel like I express myself, as an actor. Whatever the character is put in front of me, I try to bring truth to it, whichever way it lands. I try to bring as much truth to it and make it as believable as I can. I think that's the job of an actor.

We don't have to wait for people to green light our projects, we can create our own intersections.

I'm good at giving up control to people who know where they're going and what they want to do. I can sit in the back of a car and ride cross-country if you know where you're going and you know how to take me there.

Flying radio-controlled airplanes [is my guiltiest pleasure]. Only God would give me a hobby where I'm looking up to the sky. It's the only time where I am able to focus and concentrate on nothing but looking up. It's a fascinating hobby.
