I always wanted to do dramas. Ever since I was young, I wanted to be in a role where I could play a prostitute or a drug addict, because it's nice to be able to portray someone who is so far from you, which I love.

I feel like acting is something I've been working towards longer. And it would be great to win a Grammy, of course, but for some reason, an Oscar speaks more to me.

I was a pen pal with one guy, a long time ago. I think we only wrote to each other twice. We didn't really keep it up that long. But, I love it. I think it's really sweet and very creative and freeing, when you get to put a pen to paper, 'cause you don't really do it that much these days, with all this technology.

I like friends who are honest and loyal. They also shouldn't be afraid to be a kid. I like having fun.

I was actually home-schooled, so I never had the opportunity of going to prom. No-one invited me, I didn't have a good friend like Ashley at the time, that's why High School Musical's been so much fun for me because I got to experience my prom through it. There were amazing friends and I got to wear really cool dresses. It was a fantasy.

So many people try to grow up too fast, and it's not fun! You should stay a kid as long as possible!

I feel like women have an easier time separating from their characters than men do.
