What is normally called religion is what I would tend to call music - participating in music, listening to music, making records and singing.
Will OldhamI feel much more physically connected to my voice, and I like the physicality of the voice, and how the voice can physically occupy a song.
Will OldhamSometimes it will be for more money than I've ever been offered before. I mean, am I an idiot again for not doing that?
Will OldhamI'd like my records to reach as many people as possible, but I'm also thinking in terms of how I can keep from getting jaded or unhappy with the process.
Will OldhamThere's nothing that compares to watching that final of Charles Mee’s 'The Glory of the World' play at BAM17 to 20 minute sequence in one sitting. It fills you with a giddy energy watching that. Then, being gifted with the silence that follows...I've never had a theatrical experience like that before, I'm sure.
Will OldhamI want to be successful and I want people to hear the music and I want to make money at it, but if it isn't what you do, eventually it seems like that will cause you to not be able to do what you do. If you did that for a couple years, you would just become someone else, which is fine, I guess...but I don't want to become someone else. I want to do what I enjoy and what feels right.
