God calls us to worship, but in many instances we are in entertainment, just running a poor second to the theaters. That is where we are, even in the evangelical churches, and I don't mind telling you that most of the people we say we are trying to reach will never come to a church to see a lot of amateur actors putting on a home-talent show.

We are vengeful. God is forgiving. We remember. God redeems.

Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.

Speaking as a minister it is my strong feeling that no man has a right to preach to a crowd that he has not prayed for.

To be effective the preacher's message must be alive; it must alarm, arouse, challenge; it must be God's present voice to a particular people.

God tells us to make a sanctuary of our thoughts in which He can dwell.

If you cannot worship the Lord in the midst of your responsibilitie s on Monday, it is not very likely that you were worshiping on Sunday!
