It is my inner conviction that the development of science seeks in the main to satisfy the longing for pure knowledge.

Somebody who only reads newspapers and at best books of contemporary authors looks to me like an extremely near-sighted person who scorns eyeglasses. He is completely dependent on the prejudices and fashions of his times, since he never gets to see or hear anything else.

My sailing system set sail, make it fast, no thoughts of energy or velocity, loll back, let boat drift.

Whatever there is of God and goodness in the universe, it must work itself out and express itself through us. We cannot stand aside and let God do it.

I should very much like to remain in the darkness of not having been analyzed.

But could not our situation be compared to one of a menacing epidemic? People are unable to view this situation in its true light, for their eyes are blinded by passion. General fear and anxiety create hatred and aggressiveness. The adaptation to warlike aims and activities has corrupted the mentality of man; as a result, intelligent, objective and humane thinking has hardly any effect and is even suspected and persecuted as unpatriotic.

I believe in intuitions and inspirations...I sometimes FEEL that I am right. I do not KNOW that I am.
