Yeah, but before anything, I think in 6 years somehow I've grown up to have a beautiful home, 2 beautiful stepchildren, a beautiful husband, my family is healthy and happy. I'm financially ok and I do what I love for a living. That's what I think, and I think god, how did I get so lucky.

I actually feel that women in my position, when we have all at our disposal to help us, shouldn't complain when we consider all of the people who are really struggling, who don't have the financial means, who don't have the support, and so many people are single raising children - that's hard.

What surprised me about directing is how much I loved it and how happy I am to be on the set. I love coming to work in the morning. What I realized is that I never loved acting. I don't love being in the hair and makeup chair. I don't [love] being in costume. To me the strangest thing is that I've just spent the majority of my life in one aspect of this business, and because I was fortunate enough to become successful I never questioned whether I felt at home and found out later in life that I'm much happier directing.

I'm with a man who's evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful because of the journey it has taken.

People will say what they want to say, and it's okay. And my life will go on, and I need to focus on my life. So, do I need to defend that I'm a decent woman? I sure hope I don't. I know I am.

I think I should learn French and be a better cook - basic, really good life stuff.

I'm shy to call myself a director still. When someone says, 'What do you do for a living?' I don't know if I've earned that.
