I've been acting since second grade, telling stories, making my parents laugh here and there, so I'm hoping my "thing" is acting. But I also make a really good bread pudding.
Anna CampI'm a huge fan of Jessica Lange and 'American Horror Story.' I would love to work with her. She's been one of my favorite actresses for a while.
Anna CampUltimately, I don't think you can teach a tone-deaf person how to sing. Some talents you're just born with, unfortunately.
Anna CampWell, I'm from the South originally. I grew up in South Carolina definitely learning about manners and being proper and having to go to cotillions.
Anna CampI went to School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, and we had a bunch of singing classes. My first job in New York was an Off-Broadway musical.
Anna CampI think that the audience wants to see women being put into real situations where they can relate to them, rather than seeing some glamorous woman in a 'Bond' film.
Anna CampYou always envy someone else's life and, as a woman, you're always comparing your life to someone else's life.
Anna CampI went to college at North Carolina School of the Arts and took a lot of singing classes, and it really is so connected to emotions.
Anna CampI always like to be a step ahead of the audience by surprising them and the best way to do that is to not hold back.
Anna CampAt my wedding, my bridesmaids said, "You're the funniest person we've ever met." I hope I make people laugh, I hope I make people feel comfortable. I like to go out and have a good time. I don't take myself too seriously. I never have. This is all one spinning granite planet, and I'm lucky I get to act and do what I love. Life is good. I'm not going to compete for attention. You find that a lot in Hollywood with actresses, where you're just like, "Just chill out.".
Anna CampI started doing regional theater. My first job was "The Importance of Being Earnest" at Dallas Theater Center.
Anna CampI feel like I've found my voice in the actor's business. Because when you first get out of school and you're looking for jobs, you don't want to rock the boat - you can't rock the boat. You'll get known for being that sassy girl that, like, has no résumé and no one wants to work with her. But now, I'm "proven," at least in the television world, and hopefully in the theater world. I'm working on the film world. Unfortunately, it takes a while to build that kind of street cred. It's been recently that I even started to have more confidence in myself.
