When my father passed, I was still an unsuccessful cook with a drug problem. I was in my mid-thirties, standing behind an oyster bar, cracking clams for a living when he died. So, he never saw me complete a book or achieve anything of note. I would have liked to have shared this with him.
Anthony BourdainI wanted it to look like real cooking in someone's real home or just so out-of-there bizarre that it would be fun.
Anthony BourdainIf somebody crafts an interesting tweet thatโll lead me to their blog, Iโm going to their blog.
Anthony BourdainI've been very careful about what I say yes to and what I say no to. And I think seriously always about... this may be a good idea right now or it may be a lot of money right now, but will it be good for me five years from now? Will it be fun? Will it make me hate myself? I think about all of those things.
