You love people, not for what you do for them or what they do for you. You love them for their values; their virtues.

My greatest personal mistake is ever to allow a word or moment that “doesn’t count,” i.e., that I do not refer to my own basic principles. Every word, every action, every moment counts. The success of a man who deals with reality augments his self-confidence. The success of a con man augments his panic.

Errors of knowledge are not breaches of morality; no proper moral code can demand infallibility or omniscience.

Psychologically, the choice "to think or not" is the choice "to focus or not." Existentially, the choice "to focus or not" is the choice "to be conscious or not." Metaphysically, the choice "to be conscious or not" is the choice of life or death.

The best, most natural dialogue is usually written as if the writer is listening to dictation. You might get stuck on any particular point and have to question yourself; but normally, dialogue writes itself.
