Everyone goes through their winters and springs, and their summers and autumns.

A lot of people have no access to beauty. When I was growing up, my mother had only a few pretty things to look at.

My parents used to park us kids at the public library in downtown Honolulu every Saturday. They'd leave us there at 8 A.M. and pick us up at 4 P.M. - so between those hours, you'd better find something to do! I sat upstairs in the picture room and went through opera, ballet, and theater books. I loved the photographs of people wearing elaborate makeup and costumes - they really pulled at me inside. I was in that library every week for years, until I was about 13. I had a rich interior life, because I didn't have much of a social life.

If I don't feel right about what I'm in, I don't feel right about anything.

I'm mad about God! That's why I'm divine.

Some say love it is a river that drowns the tender reeds. Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your heart to bleed. Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need. I say love, it is a flower and you, its only seed.

We are all part of the ecosystem.
