Have your own life before you become somebody's wife.

I have so much admiration for women who are mothers, who balance family and work. I see them and I have this word in my head - respect. I also look to learn. I see these women and I think, 'Yes, it can be balanced, it can all work out.'

Men and women balance each other out, and we have to get to a point where we are comfortable with appreciating each other.

It was great for that to be my first movie with such a wonderful cast, and such a huge movie. And now I get to do The Fighting Temptations, which is coming out soon-it wasn't much of a character, it was more of a real person, so I got to show more of my acting range.

We are all the same and we all want the same things: the right to be happy, to be just who we want to be and to love who we want to love.

I wanted to be famous for my music and my talent, and I always wished I could cut it out when I left the stage.

To be able to travel the world, especially to places I never thought I'd be it's really, you know, still fascinating for me.
