Read the Bible. Work hard and honestly. And don't complain.

Scripture tells us that there will be signs pointing toward the return of the Lord. I believe all these signs are evident today.

Live each day as if it were your last for some day it will be.

Prayer is more than a wish; it is the voice of faith directed to God.

The unblemished ideal exists only in happily-ever-after fairy tales. Ruth likes to say, "If two people agree on everything, one of them is unnecessary." The sooner we accept that as a fact of life, the better we will be able to adjust to each other and enjoy togetherness. "Happily incompatible" is a good adjustment.

World travel and getting to know clergy of all denominations has helped mold me into an ecumenical being. We're separated by theology and, in some instances, culture and race, but all that means nothing to me any more.

What does the divine sufferer (Jesus) demand from us? Only our faith, our love, our grateful praise, our consecrated hearts and lives. Is that too much to ask?
