The cry of a young raven is nothing but the natural cry of a creature, but your cry, if it be sincere, is the result of a work of grace in your heart.

This is all that we should expect; a craving for more than this is ungrateful. When our Father does not give us more, we should be content with his daily allowance.

It is a very solemn delusion when ministers think they are prospering, and yet do not hear of conversions.

Be not proud of race, face, place, or grace.

The angels did not merely sin and lose heaven, but they passed beyond all other beings in sin and made themselves fit denizens for hell.
