It seems like the sort of archetypal American issue. If you're given the freedom to be anything, or be anyone, what do you do with it?

Either a species learns to control its own population, or something like disease, famine, war, will take care of the issue.

How you're still always trapped. How your head is the cave, your eyes the cave mouth. How you live inside your head and only see what you want. How you only watch the shadows and make up your own meaning.

On a night without moon or stars you can't see a thing, but you can imagine anything.
