Even more important than the warmth and affection we receive, is the warmth and affection we give. It is by giving warmth and affection, by having a genuine sense of concern for others, in other words through compassion, that we gain the conditions for genuine happiness. More important than being loved, therefore, is to love.

Happiness in simplicity can be achieved with a flexible mindset and nine hours sleep each night.

The message of love and compassion will travel far and wide if all who follow a spiritual path work together in harmony and mutual respect.

The immediate source of a mind... must be a mind which existed before the conception took place; the mind must have a continuity from a previous mind. This we hold to prove the existence of a past life.

I want to say, without hesitation, the purpose of our life is happiness.

Each one of us is responsible for the whole of humankind. We need to think of each other really as brothers and sisters and to be concerned for each other’s welfare. Rather than working solely to acquire wealth, we need to do something meaningful, something directed seriously towards the welfare of humanity as a whole.

If someone remains in a peaceful and tranquil state of mind, external surroundings can cause them only a limited disturbance.
