If we have no inner peace, we deceive ourselves into thinking that comfort and prosperity will bring happiness.

Every human actions becomes dangerous when it is deprived of human feeling. When they are performed with feeling and respect for human values, all activities become constructive.

Some people say that the West has a cruel history. These people also may see the achievements of Western countries - in terms of the economy, education, health, and social achievements - as a result of exploitation of poorer countries, including Arab countries. Western nations get rich by using resources such as Arab oil. Meanwhile, the countries supplying them raw materials remain poor. Due to such injustices, jealousies are created.

Many Tibetans sacrifice their lives.

I'm nothing special, just an ordinary human being. That's why I always describe myself as a simple Buddhist monk.

As human beings, we are only able to survive in dependence upon the co-operation, help and kindness of other fellow humans.

Love and compassion ... are the ultimate source of human happiness, and the need for them lies at the very core of our being.
