Compassion is concern of others' well being.

It is important that when pursing our own self-interest we should be 'wise selfish' and not 'foolish selfish'. Being foolish selfish means pursuing our own interests in a narrow, shortsighted way. Being wise selfish means taking a broader view and recognizing that our own long-term individual interest lies in the welfare of everyone. Being wise selfish means being compassionate.

The message of love and compassion will travel far and wide if all who follow a spiritual path work together in harmony and mutual respect.

Fear, hatred, and suspicion narrow your mind - compassion opens it.

It's not enough to be compassionate. You must act.

We cannot overcome anger and hatred simply by suppressing them. We need to actively cultivate the antidotes: patience and tolerance.

All beings want to live in peace and happiness, undisturbed. Therefore the concept of human rights is universal.
