I don't like to get involved in things that I am not familiar with. I'm kind of a hands-on type of person.
Dolly PartonIn the country field, weโre brought up in spiritual homes, weโre taught to โjudge not lest you be judged,โ and itโs always been a mystery to me how people jump all over things just to criticize, condemn and judge other people when that is so un-Christian โ and they claim to be good Christians! Weโre supposed to love one another. Weโre supposed to accept and love one another. Whether we do or not, thatโs a different story. But thatโs what weโre supposed to do.
Dolly PartonI will not play just an evil part. In fact, I got offered $7 million several years ago to play the part that Faye Dunaway played in 'Supergirl.' I was kind of insulted. I was impressed with the money, but I said, 'Why are you asking me to play an evil witch? Do I come across as an evil witch to you?'
Dolly PartonI wanted to be a singer, of course, but there was something about the songwriting, then and now, that is the most important thing. It's how I express myself, how I express how I see things. When I see people struggling with emotions and feelings and don't know how to put it down, I'm able to do that. It's really like a therapy, and it's like a buddy and a friend. It's a way out of a lot of things.
