They made shoes, plucked chickens, or created value in some way for other people, who then traded or paid for those goods and services.

A society that's addicted to narratives with beginnings, middles, and endings will eventually yearn to end. We just want it to end.

Treating an age group as a demographic requires coming up with something that's common to every single one of them. Right?... So it's reductionist in that it reduces an entire segment of civilization down to one person with one habit.
