Emma StoneI more remember the periods of time when I wasn't getting any auditions. That's more what I find painful in memory; that feeling of not even getting the chance to try and be rejected.
Emma StoneI think that might also be part of the life of a creative person - those sort of ups and downs and security and insecurity. It's just part of the lot in life when you're pushing yourself and hoping to always keep growing and expanding. It's emotionally tricky.
Emma StoneI've got a great family and great people around me that would be able to kick me in the shins if I ever for one minute got lost up in the clouds. I've been really lucky in that sense.
Emma StoneI've learned that you have to stay true to yourself from all the amazing people I've had the opportunity to work with thus far. You have to stay true to yourself and don't be afraid even though people may say what you're doing isn't cool or isn't right. I promise you, you will not regret it if you stay true to who you are and what you love to do because there is no other reason that I am up here today receiving this award.
