Gambles are the most fun because it's part of being an actor or being a creative person. It's risky only in the vulnerable sense. And then outside of that, no one gets too hurt by it.

You can always tell when an actor has grown a 'rhino skin' to protect themselves. It comes across on screen, and they aren't believable. They're dead in the eyes because they've been told a million times that they're the greatest actor that ever lived. If you don't realise what's happening, and get your feet back on the ground, it can be the worst thing that ever happens to you.

The idea that you can't be attractive and funny at the same time is something that I hate.

I don't do what I love to do a lot of the time.

I'm not there to be the token sexy girl. I don't know that I would ever be able to pull that off. It's nice that those characters I've played feel uncomfortable as well because it's so much more realistic.

So one day, in a fit of trying to do something different, I just dyed my hair dark brown and got my first role a week later, after which I thought: 'People are closed-minded, man! Like a different hair colour changes everything!'

I wish I gardened. I don't have a space for a garden. I'm in an apartment in New York but I do lots of stuff. I read and write and hang out with people. I go see movies.
