I don't see myself as one type of actor. When you get one role, you start to get cast in that role for awhile because that's what people have seen you do, and have hopefully seen you do it successfully. And so, it becomes an easier thing to see you as, for casting directors and directors, and they start to think of you as that particular person or type of character. But, for me, I'm just an actor, first and foremost. The actors I respect are the real character actors, who are the real chameleon actors that completely change from role to role.
Fran KranzIt's a rare thing when you read a role and have this immediate ownership over it, you have this take and this connection, and it's not even that you feel that you're gonna do a good job, it's that you feel like you've found it. It fits, it's natural; it's like putting on a good shoe or something.
Fran KranzThe more experience I get, the more I know to relax and let go of things because there's so much that is out of your control. So much needs to happen to get a film made nowadays and star power doesn't even matter anymore. So, me being what I am, I have to realise that to an extent.
Fran KranzThat's what I love about acting, is playing different roles. I want to work for the character, and not make it work for me.
