Just as the great ocean has one taste, the taste of salt, so also this teaching and discipline has one taste, the taste of liberation.

For the wakeful one whose mind is quiet, whose thoughts are undisturbed, who has relinquished judgement and blame, there is no fear.

The fool says, "These are my sons, this is my land, this is my money." In reality, the fool does not own himself, much less sons, land, or money.

Drink deeply. Live in serenity and joy.

Do not be thoughtless, always be mindful, watch your thoughts! Draw yourself out of the path of evil, like an elephant sunk in mud.

Overcoming yourself is better than overcoming a million enemies in battle.

If the traveler cannot find master or friend to go with him, let him travel alone rather than with a fool for company.
