Buddha was speaking in a village square one day, when one of the inhabitants started to abuse him. Buddha paused and said to the man, "If you offer me a piece of paper and I refuse to accept it, what happens to the paper?" "Why, it stays with me, of course," the villager replied. Buddha smiled gently, "And that is exactly what I am doing with your abuse," he said. "I am not accepting it, therefore it stays with you."

Looking deeply at life as it is in this very moment, the meditator dwells in stability and freedom.

When you know for yourselves, 'These things are wholesome; these things are blameless; these things are praised by the wise; these things, if undertaken and practiced, lead to welfare and happiness,' then you should engage in them.

How wonderful, how miraculous, all beings, but all beings, are fully endowed with the wisdom and power of the Tathagat. But, sadly, human beings, due to sticky attachments, are not aware of it

Do not let pleasure distract you from meditation, from the way. Free yourself from pleasure and pain.

Joyously participate in the sorrows of others.

Live contemplating the body through mindfulness. Live contemplating feelings. In this way you will be aware of and control wrong desires.
