The men and women of Afghanistan are building a nation that is free, and proud, and fighting terror - and America is honored to be their friend.

The global wave of democracy has barely reached the Arab states. For too long, many people in that region have been victims and subjects. They deserve to be active citizens.

Deeply impressed with the blessing which we enjoy, and of which we have much manifold proofs, my mind is irresistibly drawn to that Almighty Being, the great source source from whence they proceed and whom our most grateful acknowledgements are due.

The resolve of our great nation is being tested. But make no mistake, we will show the world that we will pass the test.
