I think certain types of processes donโt allow for any variation. If you have to be part of that process, all you can do is transformโor perhaps distortโyourself through that persistent repetition, and make that process a part of your own personality.
Haruki MurakamiI happen to like the strange ones. People who look normal and leads normal lives - they're the ones you have to watch out for.
Haruki MurakamiBy then running had entered the realm of the metaphysical. First there came the action of running, and accompanying it there was this entity known as me. I run; therefore I am.
Haruki MurakamiI myself, as I'm writing, don't know who did it. The readers and I are on the same ground. When I start to write a story, I don't know the conclusion at all and I don't know what's going to happen next. If there is a murder case as the first thing, I don't know who the killer is. I write the book because I would like to find out. If I know who the killer is, there's no purpose to writing the story.
