When I write lyrics, it's only when I'm angry or hurt or sad. So lyrically it's never really easy going. And the music is always really intense.

Motivation has always been a fascinating factor when considering a touring artist, especially when the years stack up. What keeps one out there year after year?

I don't cuss in songs. It's too easy.

No one should die when they're 50.

There is no way you are going to be forgiven for blowing up a village and killing a bunch of people.

The Ninja, as you know, operates by stealth. And so, case in point: I put out records... no one hears them! I make videos... (whispers) no one sees! I go on tour.... (whispers) no one knows! NINJA! I was never here!

I always found the Chicago audience to be a smart, fast-moving, violent and cheerful lot, and it's always good to be back.
