In justification the word to be addressed to man is believe - only believe; in sanctification the word must be 'watch, pray, and fight.'

The early Christians made it a part of their religion to look for His return. Backward they looked to the cross and the atonement for sin, and rejoiced in Christ crucified. Upward they looked to Christ at the right hand of God, and rejoiced in Christ interceding. Forward they looked to the promised return of their Master, and rejoiced in the thought that they would see Him again. And we ought to do the same.

If you and sin are friends, you and God are not yet reconciled.

Let us remember, there is One who daily records all we do for Him, and sees more beauty in His servants' work than His servants do themselves... And then shall His faithful witnesses discover, to their wonder and surprise, that there never was a word spoken on their Master's behalf, which does not receive a reward.

Sin forsaken is one of the best evidences of sin forgiven.

It costs something to be a true Christian. It will cost us our sins, our self-righteousn ess, our ease and our worldliness.

Let us learn to be patient in the days of darkness, if we know anything of vital union with Christ.
