Satan had two conditions [to his plan]: the first was the denial of agency, and the second, that he would have the honor. In other words, something had to be in it for him. And thus he became the father of lies and selfishness. Taking up one's cross and following the Savior means overcoming selfishness; it is a commitment to serve others. Selfishness is one of the baser human traits, which must be subdued and overcome. We torture our souls when we focus on getting rather than giving.

Perseverance is demonstrated by those who keep going when the going gets tough, who don’t give up even when others say, It can’t be done.

Every father and mother are the family's store keepers. They should store whatever their family would like to have in case of an emergency...(and) God will sustain us through our trials.

We acquire a testimony of the principles of the gospel by obediently trying to live them.

There is no greater good in all the world than motherhood.

Everybody in this life has their challenges and difficulties. That is part of our mortal test. . . . Peace comes through hope.

I believe that God has opened up these treasures on intelligence to enhance His purposes on the earth.
