To do life right, you have to feel like you're growing up until the day you die. The thing I'm proudest of is that I have stayed curious. I have every intention, when I'm on my deathbed, of saying, "Oh, my God - I get it!"

You spend all your life trying to do something they put people in asylums for.

I think that, like most of us, I was born with an innate goodness. And I believe that God has seen that in me and has protected me through times when I should have died so I could fulfill my potential and do his work.

I remember saying goodbye to my father the night he left to join the Navy. He didn't have to. He was older than other servicemen and had a family to support but he wanted to be a part of the fight against fascism, not just make movies about it. I admired this about him.

To be a revolutionary you have to be a human being. You have to care about people who have no power.

"Strong" to people means "real." It means you believe that's a person who exists, as opposed to some two-dimensional depiction of women.
