Christianity or any religion doesn't necessarily have to be about a church. You carry your God inside you... But when you're famous and the word gets out that you're a Christian, every church is saying, "Even Jane Fonda." People come up to me in airports and throw their arms around me.

I feel like when I was an adolescent, and felt so unworthy of love and so empty, I moved outside of myself.

Adult women, all of us, have to come to grips with how we have been affected by gender norms, and how we have been silenced. We have to help our daughters. Understanding it within ourselves and helping our young girls stand up for themselves is one way.

Who am I? I'm a survivor. I'm a woman with tremendous inner resources and resilience. I care about people. I believe in 'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you,' and I live by that. I am becoming authentic, and that's important to me. I have surpassed both my parents in terms of emotional stability, happiness and well-being. And I'm a lucky woman. I've deserved my luck.

When women have reclaimed their voices and men reclaimed their hearts, we won't be invading countries, we won't be feeling that we have the right to launch preemptive wars.

We grow up being told, "Be a good girl." When you're told to be good, you have to get rid of whatever is bad.

Beware of men who use words that relate pejoratively to females when describing the 'other side.
